X Zoe Barceló is the personal project related to clothing, illustration, art, ceramic, publishing, workshops and other collabs with brands such as Pukas Surf or Itsonlywater.

Pukas X Zoe Barceló.

The collection shows some creative messages related to the ocean such as “in tide we trust”, “stay palm” and “piensa mar y acertarás”. Those handmade stoneware tall cups and plates were made from light clay by Luz Ceramics. Handpainted and coated in transparent glossy glaze, each piece was thrown on the potters wheel, therefore they are unique and may slightly differ in shape, size or colour.

Surfboards X Zoe Barceló.

I had the chance to customize boards such as this midlenght yellow Twin Tracker by Natural Glide Surfboards, also doing some designs for Surfshop Underground Shapes, with Jayden Shapes and Franz Shapes. Both projects in the Canary Islands.

Mantras X Zoe Barceló.

Mantras are words repeated frequently to aid concentration in meditation.
Technique: Linoprint -also known as linocut- is an artisanal technique in which a sheet of linoleum is used for a relief surface. The design is cut into the linoleum surface with a sharp knife, inked with acrylic paint and then impressed by hand onto paper or fabric. Each copy presents a unique and unrepeatable result.

Deriva Sailmakers X Zoe Barceló.

Deriva was born from a former family sail atelier from the 1980s. Although the seagoing adventures of these sails came to an end, the brand upcycles today old sailing fabrics into new products. For this limited edition, we were looking for a creative concept that would show the essence of Deriva. We found the narrative journey from this pure force:

Surfshop Underground is the first second hand surfshop in the Canary Islands. Following its values ‘Recycle, Reuse and Respect” we created a simple concept to unite these designs:

I started linoprinting as a personal project many years ago. Today I teach to small groups of people how to create their own unique artworks, in a single 4-hours-class format.

Todo comienza con una simple tabla de surf. Prepárate. Tu relación con el mar está a punto de cambiar (Fig. 1). Nadie dijo que los inicios fueran fáciles: dejar de tragar agua es la primera lección. Remas. Te revuelcas. Remas. Te revuelcas otra vez. Y por fin empiezas a coger alguna ola. Será por el feeling o por ver el sunset en el mar. Pero quieres más. Así que pronto te mueves en busca de nuevas playas (Fig. 2).

Reserva un Airbnb en primera línea. O duerme en furgo con amigos según el parte de olas. Espera, ¿has mirado a qué hora es hoy la marea alta? Welcome a tus nuevas prioridades (Fig. 3). Trifin, quad o single fin. Long o retro fish. Por cierto, ¿qué sabes de aquella persona que conociste ;) en la Surfhouse? (Fig. 4). Descansa bien. Aliméntate bien. Siéntete bien. Con tu gente y contigo mismo. Comparte. Cambia. Bienestar por Bienser. Y persigue tu proporción áurea (Fig. 5).
